This module is part of the GOLD – Getting Older with a Disability training course, which aims to equip professionals and volunteers with the skills, knowledge and, ultimately, the attitudes needed to support older people with disabilities in a holistic and inclusive way. Building on the outcomes achieved by the GOLD project to date, the training course brings together expertise from the disability and ageing sectors to address the physical, psychological, social and rights-based needs of this population. Through interactive learning methods, including case-based learning, reflective exercises and collaborative approaches, participants will learn how to support older people with disabilities by understanding the changes associated with ageing, promoting and protecting their rights, supporting them through life transitions, providing end-of-life support, and strengthening communication with families and multidisciplinary professionals.
