Description
This module is part of the Gold - Getting Older with a disability | Aging Persons with Disabilities trainign, a course that aims to equip professionals and volunteers with the competencies, knowledge and ultimately in attitudes* necessary to support older people with disabilities in a holistic and inclusive manner. Building on the results of the GOLD project thus far, the course combines expertise from the disability and geriatric sectors to address the physical, psychological, social, and rights-based needs of this group. Through interactive methods such as case-based learning, reflection exercises, and collaborative approaches, participants will learn to support older people with disabilities by understanding the changes associated with ageing, protecting their rights, assisting with life transitions, providing end-of-life support, and enhancing communication with families and professionals.
